The Faculty of Computer Science, Knowledge Management and Discovery Lab (KMD) seeks to fill the following vacancy:
PhD/Postdoctoral position (m/f/d) on learning algorithms in healthcare

This position is in the project 'RheumaMining - Biomarkers and digital monitoring of rheuma progression'', an interdisciplinary project between the University Medicine and the Faculty of Computer Science (FIN). The position is located at the Knowledge Management & Discovery Lab (KMD) at FIN.
The position holder shall:
- develop learning algorithms that predict the progress of treatments and the effects of treatment change
- develop methods that trace causality relations
- combine and analyse multimodal data from clinical and digital health sources
- identify and validate predictive patterns/ markers
- work on creating a solution for long term monitoring of the patients
The position holder must have:
- PhD in the domain of RheumaMining or Master degree in Data Science or closely related discipline
- Very good skills in statistics and in one or more of Python, Java, R
- Proficiency in English - in writing and speaking
- Team-Skills
Skills/Expertise in one or more of following areas are of advantage:
- Learning methods for decision support systems or recommenders
- Learning methods for smart devices
- Learning methods for multivariate time series
- Familiarity with interdisciplinary research
Of advantage are also familiarity with the platform REDCap and proficiency in German.
