About The Role

As a Business Analyst - Data and Analytics in our brand new Regional Hub / Shared Services Centre (SSC) in Mid Valley City, Kuala Lumpur, you will have the opportunity to play a role in empowering data-driven decision-making within the organization. This position is focused on gathering and analyzing business requirements, translating them into effective solutions for reporting, analytics, and dashboarding. By designing intuitive and user-friendly dashboards, the analyst enables stakeholders to access actionable insights that drive strategic and operational outcomes.

As a vital bridge between technical teams and business units, the Business Analyst - Data and Analytics ensures that data visualization and reporting align with organizational goals while maintaining accuracy, consistency, and accessibility of data.

This role requires a strong blend of technical expertise in data, reporting, and analytics tools, combined with a solid understanding of business processes. Through collaboration and innovative thinking, the Business Analyst delivers impactful solutions that address the organization’s evolving needs and supports a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.

Your key responsibilities will include but not limited to:
Business Requirements Gathering

  • Collaborate with stakeholders across departments to understand business needs and objectives
  • Translate business requirements into clear technical specifications for BI tools and dashboards
  • Serve as a liaison between technical teams and business units to ensure alignment on deliverables

Dashboard Design & Solution Delivery

  • Design, and assist the data engineering team to implement user-friendly BI dashboards that visualize complex data in meaningful ways
  • Test and validate dashboards are working as per requirements and design
  • Ensure dashboards are optimized for performance and meet stakeholder requirements

Data Analysis & Insights

  • Analyze data to uncover trends, opportunities, and insights that support business strategies
  • Provide recommendations to improve processes, efficiency, and decision-making
  • Work with data engineering teams to validate data sources and ensure data quality

Continuous Improvement

  • Maintain and enhance existing BI solutions based on evolving business needs.
  • Stay updated with industry trends and BI tool advancements to drive innovation.
  • Good understanding of data related technologies and tools.
  • Provide training and support to end-users on using dashboards and interpreting insights.

In this role you will be collaborating with various stakeholders (internally with Global IT Team, Business Process Owners, Subject Matter Experts, Key Users; externally with other IT Vendors) across the business including our Global functions teams in Netherlands & other parts of the world.
Our organization supports a hybrid working approach. You will be supporting markets in multiple time zones and some flexibility around working hours will be needed.
You will be joining a newly formed Shared Services Centre team, with opportunities to grow, within IT Solutions or wider Global IT team.

To be successful in this role you will have:

SKILLS

Business and Industry Knowledge

  • ERP Processes: Strong understanding of ERP-related processes such as Procure to Pay (P2P), Order to Cash (O2C), Record to Report (R2R), Plan to Delivery (P2D), and Acquire to Retire (A2R)
  • FP&A Background: Financial Planning & Analysis experience or exposure is highly desirable
  • Manufacturing Industry: Familiarity with manufacturing industry operations and processes is a plus
  • Global MNC Exposure: Experience working in a multinational corporation with global teams is highly valued

Business and Analytical Skills

  • Requirements Gathering: Skilled at eliciting and documenting business requirements through stakeholder engagement
  • Problem-Solving: Proactive in identifying challenges and proposing effective, data-driven solutions
  • Business Acumen: Strong understanding of business processes, KPIs, and how data insights drive value
  • Attention to Detail: Ensures accuracy and quality in data, reports, and dashboards

Communication and Collaboration

  • Stakeholder Engagement: Ability to collaborate with both technical teams and non-technical stakeholders effectively.
  • Presentation Skills: Clear and confident in presenting data insights and solutions to various audiences.

  • Continuous Learning: Stays up-to-date with the latest BI tools, data trends, and visualization techniques.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Educational Level: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Analytics, Information Systems, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field
  • Professional Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in designing and developing BI dashboards using tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or QlikView
  • Experience in ERP systems, with exposure to ERP processes such as Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), General Ledger (GL), Fixed Assets (FA), Warehouse, Procure to Pay, Quote to Cash, Plan to Produce, etc
  • Availability: Willingness to attend to urgent issues outside of official working hours and ability to travel as required
  • Language Proficiency: Fluent in English, with additional language skills in Mandarin Chinese considered an asset
