Business Controller (f/m/d) for R&D

What part will you play?

  • You are responsible for the planning (budgeting/forecasting), controlling and monitoring of R&D projects and support services. You define the required scope of control based on the size and complexity of the individual projects.
  • You drive projects forward to achieve KPI targets in R&D
  • Additionally, you plan and monitor the cost and performance allocations of the cost centers. On a monthly basis, you analyze budget variances, initiate countermeasures and track their implementation.
  • Furthermore, you create and validate business plans and GWB calculations for R&D projects and track the achievement of target costs during the project lifecycle
  • You are responsible for the finalization and forecasting, including the coordination of activities with internal and external partners as well as foreign development sites (USA). In this context, you analyze deviations and prepare the forecast.
  • In addition, you implement agile controlling systems and KPI frameworks
  • You drive the digital transformation in R&D and adjust as well as actively develop the controlling requirements to increase transparency and impact

What you need to make real what matters.

  • You have a university degree with a focus on Industrial Engineering or a comparable field. Alternatively, you have a Siemens in-house apprenticeship or a bachelor’s degree in business administration.
  • You have several years of professional experience in controlling, plant controlling or R&D controlling
  • Furthermore, you have commercial project experience and experience with KPI systems
  • You have a sound business management knowledge, particularly in costing, R&D content and GWB calculations
  • Your methodological skills include project planning and controlling, planning systems as well as analysis methods in project management
  • You are proficient in MS Office and SAP R/3, and IT affinity is desirable
  • Leadership and intercultural experience are also desirable
  • You are characterized by initiative, analytical skills, results orientation, strategic thinking, assertiveness and communication skills
  • Fluent English and German skills round off your profile
