Group Leader (f/m/d) in the field of ‘Resources Genetics and Reproduction’ in crop plants

The Department Genebank of the Leibniz Institute of Plant Genetics and Crop Plant Research is holding the largest ex situ collection of Plant Genetic Resources for Food and Agriculture, PGRFA, in the EU27 (crop plants and wild relatives of the temperate zones). We are looking for a new lead of our Research / Service group that is in charge of the overall Collection Management.

Your tasks:

You lead a team of crop-specific curators for the planning and coordination of the collection management.
You evaluate established routines and implement innovations in the collection management.
You establish your internationally competitive research program in the area of Genetic Diversity of PGRFA, preferentially in Legume (or cereal, or Solanaceae) crops.
You attract competitive extramural funding.
You show complementarity with the research priorities of IPK, and participate in interdisciplinary collaborations within the structure of IPK and beyond.
You communicate your research in scientific journals, conferences and to the general public

Your qualifications and skills:

You are a highly qualified scientist with an excellent scientific track record, preferentially with a strong background in the management of PGRFA conservation.
You are experienced in the design and analysis of field experiments.
You hold a PhD in Plant Biology, Agriculture, Genetics, or Plant Breeding.
You have demonstrated your international competitiveness by research publications and conference contributions.

You fit to us:
